OVERVIEW

The twenty first century will be ten years in 2010. Our generation that has lived through at least the last part of the previous century will see this century to its closing laps. A greater part of the twentieth century saw women around the globe surmount the roadblocks to their respect and recognition as enabling partners to good leadership, development and peace.

In today’s rapidly changing world, there are new opportunities for women to move into positions of greater leadership, power, and influence. Women today are building legacies, transforming leadership, moving people to good works and improving the state of the world.

WOMAN 2.1  SUMMIT 2009 is designed to create the platform for the 21^st century woman to build her capacity, receive from and be inspired by other women who have excelled in their fields of endeavour.

Using insightful tools the summit will focus on honing the abilities of undergraduate women, women in the working class and women in senior positions to develop strong cross-sector professional strategies, through the creation of successful alliances and enduring partnerships. The program is an intense, interactive experience designed to provide women with information to surmount their spiritual, social, emotional and professional roadblocks to success.

This summit is an initiative of Effusion Motivate, an attitudinal/behavioral life coaching group who focuses on re-energizing young people through our capacity building programs and any other relevant media to bring about transformational change.

This premier summit which is scheduled to take place at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana on the 30^th & 31^st of October, 2009

WHY WOMAN 2.1 SUMMIT 2009

We believe that Africa is where she is today because women have not taken their position as yet in a moment of extraordinary potential and enormous promise for Africa. In a twenty first century world, thriving institutions, developed as well as developing nations and successful businesses have discovered that women are indispensable transformational change agents and a catalyst for progressive development.

Women in Africa have yet to contribute their full energy, creativity and even harness their full God-given potential. As Africa stands on the threshold of greater transformation, women have a major role to play as equal partners.

If we, as Africa, build the capacity of our women, hone their abilities, make them integral part of policy decision making processes and developmental agenda, then our continental transformation will come sooner.

Knowledge and Insight-To deepen women’s knowledge and insight of their God given potentials, firm dynamics, twenty first century trends and success strategies.

Education, Inspiration and Empowerment-To inspire a sense of greater vision, spiritual enrichment, personal leadership and achievement among women.

Opportunity Creation and Expansion-To create and facilitate opportunities for career building, collaboration and partnerships among undergraduate women, business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals across a variety of fields and disciplines.

Community Leadership and Global Impact-To inspire women towards leadership in transforming our communities and our world.

Career Advancement and Effective Personal Leadership-To offer media and experience that inspire women towards advancement and prepare women for greater effectiveness in professional leadership and management.

WOMAN 2.1 SUMMIT 2009-THE PROGRAM

The WOMAN 2.1  SUMMIT 2009 is a premier gathering of women in leadership and emerging leadership positions designed to inspire, empower and connect undergraduate women, women executives, managers, professionals and emerging women leaders. The two-day summit takes place over a weekend (Friday and Saturday)  and features keynotes, speeches, presentations and discussions aimed at

• Divulging the power of a woman especially in the 21^st century.
• Creating a critical mass of women making transforming contributions in business, leadership, communities and improving the state of the world.
• Gearing up undergraduate women for the world even before they step into it.
